Overview

Plant  1 Tulip Tree on the southwest side of each new home in a subdivision of 100 homes.  The Tulip Tree is a tall, fast growing hardwood which will provide shade and thereby reduce air-conditioning costs in summer, be a windbreak in reducing heating costs in winter, provide oxygen while in leaf, and it is the host plant (where it lays its eggs) for the Eatern Tiger Swallowtail, (the big yellow butterfly).  Tulip Trees produce a tulip like flower, and dark green foliage, adding colour and increasing property values.
All positive benefits, no negative!

How will the $5K be used?

Budget Notes: Trees will be given to home owners in a new subdivision on the condition they agree to plant and care for for the tree as per an attached planting instruction sheet.
