Overview

Our project has two goals. 1. Feed our community and feed our children. 2. Do so in a sustainable and responsible way. Every year, the Food Bank is forced to turn away single parent families, the working poor, and other individuals who have fallen on hard times because the demands the Food Bank's resources do not meet the need. To bridge this gap, we will fit the Food Bank with solar panels. Through the FIT program, (Feed-in -Tariff),the Food Bank will be to generate up to $10,000 worth of income a year for the next 25-30 years. This additional income will enable the Food Bank to purchase perishable food items such as milk and eggs in order to satisfy the nutritional needs of the 2,500 children who use the Food Bank's services every year. The remaining funds will go towards purchasing a 5 Ton truck to replace the van they are currently using. This truck will increase the Food Bank's efficiency as well as their ability to solicit and transport large donations

How will the $100K be used?
